Please enjoy this devotion by Evangelist Alta Strauss from Word for the World Ministries
Often we go through life and instead of living life in abundance as God intended for us, we merely exist. I remember how I got up one morning and as I beheld my reflection in the mirror, I heard the Lord speak these words to my heart, “I created you with a plan and a purpose bigger than you ever dream of, greater than you can ever imagine, but the woman who looks back at you in that mirror has to bring her broken mess to Me in order for Me to restore her honor. “
When I look back on my life, I can testify that the grace of the Lord is enough. How many times did I feel as if I could’t go on, but every time I brought my wounded mess to the Lord, He gave me His joy and His peace.
I want to challenge you to look back on your own life and see how many times you have had a “God-Divine-Moment” in your life, where the Lord interceded on your behalf and gave you new strength and wings like that of an eagle, to fly high above your circumstances. Hope gives depth to our faith, hope is born from difficult times in our lives, times of rising from the ashes, trying again and conquering our greatest fears. Hope is that firm conviction and unwavering certainty in the Lord, which does not disappoint. Our story of hope is our testimony of encouragement to others to strengthen them in their faithfulness.
We have been created in the image of God to, by the fervent working of the Holy Spirit in and through us, proclaim the life-changing message of hope to others in need. From our personal experiences of His goodness, grace and mercy, announce to those caught up in hopeless circumstances, the release of this beautiful promise, Christ our Hope of glory.
Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted, “To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” – Isaiah 61:3 NKJV
This is one of the most amazing encounters in life.
